I am always on the look out for new and emerging wineries, and especially interested when winemakers are able to source grapes from select vineyards that showcase the characteristics they are looking for in the wines they make. Rob Doolan wines seem to fit this bill and his wines have been met with critical acclaim, most notably taking out the best new winery in James Halliday's Winecompanion.

The winery itself was established in 2010, with the first commercial release in 2011, Rob is a veteran of the wine industry with 25 years of experience, most notably at Sticks and Punt Road, two of the Yarra Valley's most prominent producers.

Rob purchased the Yarra Burn winery, which is were the wines are now made, with the 2012's getting widespread critical acclaim. I am yet to try the 2012's , but thought it worthy to make mention of a winery to watch, with an industry veteran at the helm, sourcing fantastic fruit from across the Yarra Valley.
