Yarra Valley Cabernet, it will once again be king one day…
This is yet another great Cabernet coming out of the Yarra Valley, the region can produce wines with such concentration and character as young wines, whilst having the ability to age for significant periods.
A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot, the nose is bursting with blackberry and layers of oak spice with understated cigar box and olive nuance.
The palate is beautifully proportioned with juicy dark fruits caught in a web of drying, spicy and earthen tannin. The finish certainly shows the dominance of Cabernet with tomato leaf to drying, tightly bound cassis and unmistakable tight grain french oak spice.
