2008 Puddleduck Cabernet Sauvignon

A deep red with etches of purple towards the rim, the nose is fruit driven and primary which is surprising given the wine is already 5 years old, but given time additional cinnamon spices, dark cocao and vanillin oak show themselves.

The tannins are juicy and ripe and led by raspberry and blackcurrant fruits with an over so slight olive and leathery aspect giving complexity to this medium bodied cool climate cabernet.

The 08 release is a very good example of Tasmanian Cabernet with the fruit ripe and tannins superbly balanced.
