The nose seems more old world than new with some leather and earth to deep seated cherry and plum fruit. The palate continues with a layered expression of the variety with some dark chocolate tones joining damp earth and cigar box like spices. The fruit has depth and richness, but i do really enjoy the balance and savoury appeal of the wine.
