A medium, slightly dull red in the glass, the nose gives stewed plum and meat with old leather. The wine has good concentration and depth with soft ripe tannins that are well integrated with vanillin oak. There is still varietal mataro and over time it’s savoury nature will come to the fore as the impacts of oak become more subdued. This wine will reward cellaring.
