2013 Ministry of Clouds Mataro

I have been very impressed by recent tastings of the wines being produced by Ministry of Clouds, these guys are ones to watch as they craft some very considered wines from McLaren Vale.

The wine gives a nose that is a little more primary fruited than one would expect for the variety with brighter cherry and raspberry fruit that is well supported by some raisin, earthen tones.

The palate is balanced, there are juicy dark fruits to start before a more savoury and meaty side that gives rise to textural, grainy tannins and ever so subtle oak inputs.

This will reward time in the cellar.
