A youthful red hue in the glass given the wines age, the nose has ripe red fruits and generous amount of oak on the nose. The palate treads a similar path with brawn winning over beauty. There is decadent ripe plum and rich toasty vanillin oak that is dense and spicy which is to the detriment of contrast and complexity on the finish. This wine will continue to drink well over the next 4 - 6 years.
