2017 Hobbs Vintners Tin Lids Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

The quintessential Australian red blend, on top of that the wine exudes Barossa with big bold fruit and generosity of oak that is characteristic of the region.

To start with this is a wine for those that like them big, it comes in at 15.3%, but carries it well. There is a lushness of plum and Christmas cake spice on the nose that has the faintest of herbaceous edges from the Cabernet.

The palate is generous and supple with plum, dark cherry and rhubarb compote the best description of both flavours and concentration. There is plenty of acid and tannin to carry the fruit with touches of leather and spice leading to a dark berry finish that is interjected by milk chocolate.
