2014 Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1

Tasting through the 14 releases of Yarra Yering is quite an experience, all the wines are not just good, they are exceptional. The Dry Red No. 1 was sourced from the original 1969 plantings and is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Malbec & 5% Petit Verdot.

This is such a complete wine now but will become even more remarkable with time in bottle. The nose gives blackberry fruit, understated licorice and damp herbs that are interjected by french oak and leads to a dark fruited core with rolling savoury nuance and spice. The concentration of fruit to finish is second to none.

A wine that exudes class and will go down as a classic.
