2016 Pertaringa Lakeside Red Mertitage

The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

A nose of blackberry, dark cherry and and violets and an embellishment of cedar and dark chocolate. The palate has more stature than i was expecting from a $20 wine, there is leather and cedar to vibrant blackberry and mulberry fruit with a dusting of milk chocolate that adds richness. The finish has a web of drying tannin with a touch of fruit sweetness that is slightly out of alignment with the wines more savoury characters. Great value for money.
