Review Detail
2005 Ashbrook Estate Cabernet Merlot
Wine Rating
89
Sweet earthy olive and blackcurrant that combine with rich oak initially, however with time in the glass the fruit dried out and lost definition.
On the palate the tannins are fine and the blackberry fruit is ripe with a slight Cabernet mint character coming through on the back palate.
The finish shows good length, but is a drink now proposition.
