A dark red in colour, the nose is lean and rustic with olive and cassis. The palate focuses on structure rather than fruit with earthy, grainy tannins that get some balance from dark berry fruits, and contrasted by newer oak and leathery characters to finish.

It will be interesting to see where this wine goes over time as it starts to soften.
