Review Detail
2008 Dominque Portet Fontaine Cabernet Shiraz Merlot
Wine Rating
90
This wine is a blend of fruit from both the Yarra Valley and Heathcote, and represents great value for $20. The nose gives savoury plum with briny olive that is backed by meatier characters.
The palate has dark fruits at it’s core with fine tannins and leathery plum fruits that integrate with supporting oak to finish. The wine is drinking in it’s prime now, with a balance between fruit and secondary complexity.
