Review Detail
2008 Sorby Adams The Reverend Canon Cabernet Shiraz
Wine Rating
89
This wine is sourced from the Eden Valley with a nose that gives ample oak and is backed by plum and mocha.
The fruit elements of the wine are medium bodied, however there is a sweetness of oak that soon surpasses the quality fruit that showed itself only fleetingly. The finish is steeped in chocolaty oak, with dark fruits trying to make themselves heard. The oak is undoubtedly of high quality, but it is not in tune with the more restrained fruit.
Still enjoyable for a glass, but one for those who enjoy vanillin oak.
