Cabernet Blend January 26, 2015
2001 Voyager Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Wine Rating

94
This wine tasted blind could easily be picked as a wine that is closer to 5 -7 rather than 14 years from vintage given its taut mineral structure, layers of dark berry fruits and dried herb characters that will give even more over time.

The wine is a deep red in the glass, showing almost no signs of age, the nose is characterised by tomato leaf, blackcurrant, olive and pencil shavings; a compelling collection of aromas.

The palate is medium to full bodied with elegance and structure, cedary oak melds with dense blackcurrant and gives impressive concentration and mouth feel. The finish balances savoury dried herbs and black fruits, the length is very good.

This wine will continue to evolve over the next 7 years.
