Ode to Lorraine pays homage to Lorraine Ashmead, co-founder of Elderton, the wine is blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon 31% Shiraz, 11% Merlot. The vine age of material that goes into this wine ranges from 1914 - 1994, with the resultant wine spending 24 months in French and American oak
The wine has excellent aromatics with spicy almost floral plum and cherry supported by vanillin spice and raspberry strap.
A wine of balance and elegance, ripe and rounded red fruits on entry benefit from gentle spice and a touch of licorice across the journey, drying, savoury tannins add texture and complexity to the finish.
