I was a little apprehensive of this wine prior to tasting, a cabernet from Heathcote 17 years on, i was pleasantly surprised. 

The wine is a mature red in the colour with a nose that combines leather and earth with savoury dark fruits and background mint.

A fully mature wine that has taken on secondary aspects of tobacco, and old leather amongst drying fine tannins and brambly red currant fruit. Ample tannin and just enough fruit to finish that suggests this wine is ready to go now.
