Review Detail
2006 Mount Mary Quintet
Wine Rating
95
A deep red in the glass, grainy olive, blackcurrant, savoury wood inputs, backed by sweet cassis on the nose.
The palate is texture personified, olive meets liquorice strap on a bed of concentrated dark berry fruits, the tannins are savoury and structural, the wine keeps giving across the palate with a graphite nature that needs even more time to unfurl. The finish shows balanced varietal characters of tomato leaf and a touch of capsicum. A standout wine.
