Review Detail
1994 Chateau Leoville Poyferre
Wine Rating
94
An incredibly dense and dark red hue in the glass given the wine has reached it's 21st birthday. A nicely mature nose that shows primary blackberry with graphite and attractive cigar box aromas.
The palate shows some development that gives great complexity to densely packed black fruits, the tannins give structure and a drying character with some richer dark cocoa notes.
The finish is driven by blackberry and accentuated by cigar box and leather, this wine could live for another decade with ease.
