Cabernet Blend June 29, 2015
1985 Chateau de Fieuzal
Wine Rating

95
A truly exceptional colour for it’s age, a dark red in the glass that is only slightly bricking towards the rim.

The nose has maintained primary fruit of blackcurrant with graphite / pencil shavings amongst grainy olive and a touch of capsicum.

The wine is medium bodied and mature with a wave of dark fruits on entry, there is a leathery aspect and fine tannins that are supported by cedary oak to finish.

I had this with a friend to celebrate his 30th birthday, the running joke was the wine was in much better condition that he was ! If you have any of this in the cellar it will continue to hold for a few years to come.
