Review Detail
2014 Moss Wood Amy's
Wine Rating
90
Moss Wood have been producing the Amy's for a number of years now, it represents the entry point into the red portfolio, but is still a wine that rewards patience.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot, showing a glossy dark red to purple hue in the glass. The nose is youthful and bright with hallmark blackberry and graphite with a suggestion of oak spice and earth.
The wine shows it's youth on the palate with bright acidity, pristine fruit and structural tannins; a formidable foundation on which this wine will build in years to come. In terms of fruit bright black fruits flow across the palate and are backed by pencil shaving spice. Good length to finish with depth of drying tannins.
