Cabernet Blend June 12, 2016
2012 Leeuwin Estate Prelude Cabernet Merlot
Wine Rating

94
Leeuwin Estate’s current releases are impressive across the board, but after a recent tasting it was the Prelude Cabernet Merlot that stood out in terms of value for money.

On the nose you are met with grainy olive and plum that is backed by mulberry with a richness of dark chocolate and cigar box pushing through.

The palate is punchy and concentrated with boysenberry and plum in spades, tannins are supportive and underwrite plenty of future development, attractive leather notes support the fruit focussed finish.

Great value, and will cellar well.
