Cabernet Blend August 25, 2016
2013 Yeringberg Cabernet
Wine Rating

95
The wine was produced from vines planted between 1969 and 2002. The predominant variety is Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), but also includes Merlot (12%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Petit Verdot (7%) and Malbec (6%).

A classical fruit driven nose of blackberry and black currant with top notes of leather and touch of floral spice. The palate is an exercise in elegance with fine supple tannins building across the palate and dark fruits given complexity and life by subtle interjections of French oak and dried herbs. The finish is long and holds true to its core of dark fruits and flashes of spice.

Drinking well now, but will reward considerable time in the cellar.
