Woodlands continues to craft excellent wines across all price points from their Estate vineyard in Margaret River, the 2014 Cabernet Merlot is made up of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot.
A deep but youthful red in the glass, the nose gives a concentrated dark fruit experience with earth and olive providing contrast. The wine unfolds with layers of texture; tannins are drying and firm, dark fruits are tightly bound and varietal with background notes of dark chocolate. The finish shows good balance with focussed acidity providing structure and length.
