Review Detail
2013 Greedy Sheep Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot
Wine Rating
93
A single vineyard release that follows on from the very good 2012 that has been given a facelift in terms of packaging which certainly makes it look the part.
The wine shows top notes of blackcurrant with flashes of sage and graphite. The palate is elegantly medium bodied with plum and ripe blackberry that works in against a lattice of drying, fine and herbaceous tannins. Oak provides gentle spice and enough richness to counteract the wines more brambly and savoury aspects, the finish has well defined blackberry and mulberry fruit that lingers.
Drinking well now and over the medium term.
