Review Detail
2013 Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyard Cabernet Merlot
Wine Rating
92
A current release wine that has already been cellared for 5 years, a luxury not afforded by all wineries. The 2013 is in a good place with some leather and earth supporting blackberry and plum with a touch of anise and choc mint on the nose.
There is a grippy, earthen core of tannin that is integrated with generous black fruits; oak gives both cedar richness and adds to the drying finish. Drinking well now but sure to go another decade.
