2018 Terre a Terre Crayeres Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
(Updated: August 12, 2020)
Wine Rating

95
The quintessential Australian blend, but don’t be fooled there is the structure and class that has a stylistic nod to Bordeaux. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Shiraz (37%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) and was aged in new (21%) and older French barriques.

A youthful red to purple hue with blackberry, graphite and faint liquorice root aromatics. The palate has a drying, dense baseline of black fruits with bitter dark cocoa and bitumen underwriting both structure and the wines potential to age. The savoury, more primal influences are lifted by a weave of spice and more floral plum fruit. The finish is long and drying. A wine you want to see a decade from now.
