Review Detail
2017 Lord Malmsbury Classic Red
Wine Rating
93
A lovely, mature red that is showing well after a number of years in bottle and still available from the producer.
A medium red in colour. The nose has the unmistakable spiced impact of American oak that is well integrated with black cherry and plum and dark chocolate.
The palate is soft and supple, with a Pinot like elegance to it in terms of a litheness of red berry fruits and finely textured yet impactful tannins. The influence of oak gives both brown spice and vanillin tones with excellent drive and carry of red berry fruits to finish.
