Review Detail

Cabernet Blend September 29, 2011
2008 Petaluma Coonawarra
Wine Rating

96
Medium red in colour, the nose shows quality vanillin oak and understated, dusty blackberry fruit.

The palate is medium to full bodied and has superb varietal definition with spiced blackberry, cinnamon and dark cherry mingling on the wonderfully proportioned palate.

There is a youthful vibrancy to the wine with a great acid structure and tannins to match, oak is handled particularly well and adds another dimension to the fruit driven palate.

The wine has tremendous length and is worthy of extended cellar maturation.
