2008 Katnook Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon

The odyssey release is considered Katnook's flagship Cabernet, with the wine showing the added attention during the wine making process in terms of the use of oak and general concentration of fruit.

The wine is a slightly browning red towards the rim of the glass, the nose is dominated by spicy vanillin oak and raisin black currant and plum.

The depth of fruit and amount of spice on the palate is considerable, but at the cost of varietal definition. The tannins are firm and rightfully so given the weight of the palate, the wine lingers with drying black fruits on the finish.
