2010 Mitchell Sevenhill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

I find it incredibly hard to believe that this wine is retailing for $28 a bottle, I made the mistake of making a claim that only d’Arenberg would hold back a sub $30 wine; however Mitchell have been doing this for years which may not be great from an accounting perspective but offers incredible value as a consumer.

A varietal and regional nose that’s led by blackberry fruit, but backed by mint, cedar, and subtle liquorice notes. The palate is supple and integrated with cigar box spice, leather and graphite giving dimensions to the black fruits that also hold an earthen edge. The wine is in a great spot now, just starting to enjoy some of the secondary complexities that time provides. Will cellar with confidence for another decade.
