2010 Wynns Messenger Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Wynns in recent years has released a number of premium Single Vineyard wines, with the 2010 Messenger being the second vintage release under the label.

This wine shows undoubted class in terms of fruit and oak, but I can't help but think it's been overdone. The vanillin oak shrouds the varietal Cabernet fruit, which is stylistically very different to many of the other 2010 Cabernet's in the portfolio.

Time will really show how good this wine will be and if the soft oak and velvety tannins will fade to the background and let the fruit from a great vineyard and vintage shine.
