2014 Tokar Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Tokar Estate first came onto my radar with their very good 2013 releases, at the time of trying them I had a sample of the 2014’s out of barrel and was very impressed, needless to say their passage to bottle from barrel has been kind.

A deep red in the glass, a classical nose of tomato leaf, cassis and pencil shavings that is youthful but with substance. There is great tannin structure with a bright and focussed core of black fruits that are supported by grainy graphite tannins. The wine gets a touch of chocolate and cigar box on the dark fruited finish.

Drinking well now, this will be positively singing with a few years in the bottle.
