2014 Wykari Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is produced from a dry grown vineyard that was planted in 1998. The wine gives a deep red in the glass with a nose that is a rich but varietal expression of Cabernet, there is a plushness of plum and blackberry with mint and chocolate secondary notes that all knit together well.

The plushness seen on the nose carries itself through to the palate, with moutfhilling dark fruits before drying blackcurrant laden tannins take hold and steer the wine more towards a deep brooding style before generous dark chocolate frames the finish.

A great value wine with plenty of appeal now and the structure to reward medium term cellaring.
