2016 Credaro 1000 Crowns Cabernet Sauvignon

Sourced from the Summus vineyard, this is the pinnacle of Cabernet produced by the Estate. The wine is still tightly coiled as one would expect from top end Margaret River Cabernet, but is showing all the hallmarks of a wine that is going to continue to evolve into something special with time.

There is density of blackberry and mulberry fruit on the palate that soaks up graphite laden tannin with bitter dark chocolate and a savoury line of acidity. Oak gives another layer of texture, but will really start to show itself with a few more years in the bottle. The mid to back palate has a faint touch of kirsch and crushed herbs before a return of blackberry to drive things home. A wine for a generous decant or decades in the cellar.
