Review Detail
2010 Longview Devil's Elbow Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
91
A dense dark red with a slight purple hue around the rim, the nose shows olive, cedar and blackcurrant with another dimension provided by quality vanillin oak.
The palate is laden with peppery blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, the tannins are drying with olive tapenade giving way to mouth filling tight grained oak. There are hints of tobacco that blend with juicy dark berry fruits on the finish.
The wine will reward time in the bottle to soften and unfurl but will continue to develop over the medium term.
