Review Detail
2008 Yalumba The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
93
I like to think of the cigar as a baby Menzies, with the wine showing very similar characters to it's more expensive stable mate.
The nose has a choc peppermint character alongside blackberry and cedar, the tannins across the palate are long and drying and there is an underlying liquorice all sorts richness that complements blackberry and mint. Great length of grainy black fruits to finish.
