Review Detail
2012 Deep Woods Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
95
Deep Woods Estate was established in1998, however it is really since the involvement of Julian Langworthy in 2011, and the release of a raft of exceptional wines over the last couple of years that this winery’s star has started to rise.
The nose is something to behold, concentrated is an understatement. Blackcurrant and cassis meet olive and cedary oak, it’s a nose that gives you a sense of anticipation of how good the taste could possibly be.
The palate doesn’t disappoint, blackcurrant and blackberry gains cigar box complexity, there is a web of structural tannins that are seamlessly integrated with cedary oak. The balance and length to finish is exceptional.
