Review Detail
2005 Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
89
A wine that is quite mature 10 years from vintage, the nose gives both ripe fruit but also a meaty, earthy aspect that are at slight odds to one another.
The palate lacks varietal character, with ripeness and oak treatment providing a soft and rounded dry red that is more in the plum and vanillin oak spectrum than typical Cabernet.
The wine finishes with good depth, savoury tannins and a little spice.
