Cabernet Sauvignon June 23, 2015
1989 Best’s Great Western Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating

91
This wine was tased blind, the colour, nose and concentration of the palate suggested a wine of 5 years of age, not one that has just passed it's 25th birthday. It's not the most complex of wines, but a thoroughly enjoyable drink and an example of age worthiness of Grampians cabernet.

As described the wine is a dark red in the glass, it beguiles it’s age with a nose of drying black fruits and pencil shavings, the palate still gives primary black fruit with drying leather and a touch of cigar box kicking in towards the finish. If cellared well there is no reason this won't be showing well 10 years from now.
