Review Detail
2001 Juniper Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
87
Juniper Estate have built a strong reputation on the back of a number of consistently good releases, i recently had a great opportunity to try their Cabernet 14 years post vintage.
The wine held a deep red colour in the glass, the nose was dusty and brambly with graphite and pencil shavings. There was some slightly angular alcohol on the palate as the wine has moved from primary fruit characters to a more savoury tannin inspired expression.
The wine finishes with acceptable length but is a little one dimensional.
