Cabernet Sauvignon January 15, 2016
2011 Clos Du Val Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating

89
A deep red that has a light bricking towards the rim. The nose has a chocolate richness to loosely knit tomato leaf and diluted black fruits.

The palate is varietal, but lacks depth on entry. There are herbaceous notes to blackberry fruit with a tannin structure that is soft initially but gives a fullness and more structural experience as the wine opens. The finish has a drying leathery aspect and good length.

A good Napa Cabernet without reaching great heights.
