Review Detail
2012 Moss Wood Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
96
An true Australian icon that has seen a run of near perfect vintages over the last 5 years, this wine is worthy of it's status.
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, the nose is a heady combination of mulberry, violets and blackberry with earthen notes and flashes of oak.
The palate though tightly bound at the moment is still imminently approachable, mulberry fruit works in with earth and leather, tannins are drying but fine and supportive.
The word that kept coming to mind when describing the finish was prodigious, dark fruits lingered long after the final sip.
