Review Detail
2011 Laurance Icon Cabernet Sauvignon
(Updated: July 28, 2016)
Wine Rating
87
If you haven’t seen the packaging from Laurance Wines, it’s a site to be seen. The wine is presented in a gold embossed bottle that resembles a bowling pin, a talking point no doubt if drinking with friends.
Medium red hue in the glass with a nose of cassis and graphite that is detracted from by a touch of orange peel.
The palate is medium bodied with oak dominant and varietal black fruits having just enough concentration to have an impact, tannins are drying giving structure and mouthfeel with the finish showing more defined blackberry fruit and less overt oak.
A wine that has some good attributes but generally disjointed.
