Review Detail
2016 Allegiance Wines The Artisan Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
88
An attractive dark red in the glass, the nose has plum and blackberry fruit that’s supported by cedar like spice. The palate is medium bodied with raspy red fruits that are drying with a baseline of kirsch liquor. Tannins are fine, but when paired with taut acidity provide a drying experience on the mid to back palate that overshadows the fruit at this point in the wines development. The finish gives freshly tilled earth alongside blackberry fruit and faint herbaceous notes.
A wine that needs a few years to come into it’s own.
