What a surprise packet, a wine that can be regularly found for a tick over $10 that over delivers in spades. The nose is unmistakably Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberry that melds with cigar box spice and a suggestion of old leather. The palate is full bodied with a touch of alcohol showing, before being folded back into the immersive black fruits that are interwoven by olive and tomato leaf. Tannins are supple and supportive. The finish is long, with savoury flare to blackberry and liquorice strap.
