The Rustica range from Z Wines provideimpressive value, this Cabernet has all the hallmarks of a wine twice the price.
Black olive, leather and blackberry dominate the nose with intensity and concentration that also enjoy the trappings of generous cedary oak.
The palate is supple and rich and centred around juicy black fruits, there are nuances of milk chocolate tied up in the flowing tannin structure before bracken and coffee grinds add another layer of interest to finish.
Barossa Cabernet is often the poor cousin of Shiraz but capable of producing some excellent results.
