Review Detail
2016 d’Arenberg The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Rating
88
A deep inky red in colour with blackberry and blackcurrant alongside olive and old leather on the nose with a touch of alcohol warmth.
A bold, brooding palate that is steeped in blackberry fruit with drying, earthen tannin. A wine that shows unbridled impact of fruit as opposed to impact of oak. There is drying density of black fruits to finish with a saline and subtle cigar box thread, however doesn’t quite have the elegance of previous vintages.
