Champagne April 14, 2014
2006 Piper-Heidsieck Brut
Wine Rating

95

The 2006 is an excellent release from a Champagne house that in recent years has gone from strength to strength. The wine has a nose of fresh bread and nectarine that works seamlessly with the creamy and biscuity palate. The richness of the wine gets rained in by searing citrus acidity on the mid to back palate, with the finish providing a layering of citrus and stone fruits that give good mouthfeel and length.

This wine is drinking very well now, but would reward medium term cellaring
