Review Detail
2004 Bollinger La Grande Annee
Wine Rating
95
A developed yellow in the glass, a wonderfully fine bead with tiny bubbles that are almost hypnotic, the nose shows initial citrus fruits and orange peel, but with time in the glass more toasty biscuit characters come into play.
The palate has a pure and mineral structure that woks in with softer biscuit notes and taut citrus and green apple. The finish is given texture and mouthfeel with some grapefruit astringency that is quickly counteracted by lingering brioche and sour edged nectarine.
